My Life as a Money Teacher

Years ago, I had had a body trainer, she told me ever since she was a kid, she's very interested in muscles, and how muscles build. She's interested in studying something like frog's legs compared with human's legs. I think it's very interesting. For me, when I was a kid, I'm very interested in money. My father came from a rich family, and mom came from a very poor one. Father was a business-man, but he didn't succeed until he was in his 50s and 60s. I have seen a lot of ups and downs, and experienced a lot of sweetness and sourness in life. Whenever my father took me to his other business friends' homes, it always got me to see people living in a big house, how beautiful their wives were and how they spent money, whereas our whole family was living in a 80sqft room. That was the way of life in Hong Kong in the 60s.

When I was in my 20s, I always visited hotel lobbies, and paid some HK$40 to buy coffees, just to watch those rich people walked and talked. I still watch people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally materialistic. But since I've experienced enough poverty, I really don't mind to see the other side of life, which is abundance and finery. I have chosen to be a money teacher, not only to make a difference in my life and that in my family. My vision is to serve God and His people by expressing my talents and abilities as a speaker, writer and marketer. I love the stage and training room. Nothing can make me feel more whole, complete and being myself than on stage. It feels like home. I just know that anything I say or do is okay; people love me for who I am, and I love people. For all these, I thank God.

The Most Embarrassing Experience as A Speaker

During SARS period, I was asked to speak in a very famous club in TST near Ocean Center. It was agreed that the esteemed club was responsible to invite at least 15 guests. Most speakers know that in any seminar with guests under 15, it will be very hard for the speaker/artist to keep the energy high? Finally they said they had 10 members signed up for the seminar, and they really wanted me to go, so I said yes. The bad news was… due to SARS, we had one guest showed up that day. I still remember how embarrassed that young mother, the club manager, me and my manager were. The good news was, I had two staff came with me, and the club manager also asked two staff to sit in. Great!

The Most Challenging Experience As a Speaker

As a speaker, you need to prepare yourself for the worst. The worse is not, of course, too many guests that you need to find more chairs for them. The most unbearable nightmare is, your guests don't show up. In 1999, my business partner and I were expecting 10~12 guests to attend our seminar. In the end, only 2 guests showed up that evening, it was very embarrassing. The worst was, both of them fell asleep in the middle of the seminar. It was the first few month I worked as a speaker, I really didn't know what to do. Then, I remembered a story from one of my mentors who told me. "Your role as a speaker, you speak even when all your guests leave in the middle of it, and use your energy to enroll them to come back.' So, I just kept talking, and talked them into waking. The truth is, people can be tired, and numbers and figures can be boring. It's very understandable why people do that. The good news was, people didn't realize they fell asleep and for how long, they just woke up and lost the time.

The Most Rewarding Mistake

	My ex-business partner, my friend, my angel, Wilma Ho. She taught me what True Abundance is, and led me into the world of Prosperity.

Years ago, I did a business presentation for a lady I didn't know. It went very well, and then it's time for closing. This rich tai-tai (wife) asked me "Usually how many units your other clients buy on their first purchase?' I was thinking of 2units, which was one acre of land. But in stead of 2 units, I said 2 acres, which were 6 units of land. Since I made a mistake, I had to pretend everything's fine, now all I could do was to wait for the client's response. We expected she would say, "Oh, I don't think I can want that many units, maybe I'll start with 1 acre.' No! We were wrong. She said, "Okay." So my partner and I each made HKD72,000 in one presentation. Hurray!
